Climbing the highest peak of the Pyrenees
Me at the top of the Aneto (3404m., Maladeta, Pyrenees, Spain)
At the glacier
The wind has done his work up here….
04:45u in the morning. Left the bus at “La Besurta”. Took the path that lead to the Renclusa hut.
Renclusahut: the first climbers are ready to go….
The sun is coming up…
Scramblin’ over (and around) the lower rocks
First sunrays of the morning.
Scrambling at the clacier
Ice Axe
Small crevasses
Large enough to swallow someone whole??
Col de Coronas (3196m.): this picture was taken just above the steepest part of the glacier and just below the summit rocks.
Pas de Mahoma: on the summitrocks. You can already see the cross.
On the summit of Aneto
View from the top
The Border between France and Spain. Standing at the Port de Venasque (Puerto de Benasque) and looking at the Aneto massif.
